Buying your first vending machine
What to inspect, what to pay, and which features matter for a first location.
Start with the operating reality.
A good vending decision is less about the headline price and more about fit: product mix, service access, payment hardware, location requirements, and the work needed before the first vend.
Inspect what creates downtime.
Test payment acceptance, every active selection, delivery sensors, refrigeration where applicable, door seals, wiring condition, and access to replacement parts. Record model and serial information before arranging transport.
Put the agreement in writing.
Confirm exactly what is included, when ownership transfers, who handles loading and freight, and whether training, keys, locks, cashless devices, or location agreements are part of the sale.
